Here is typical procedure of AgWay Framework installation:
Install AgWay transmitters along the road or aisle where AGV is going to travel (Every 40m on both sides). It is recommended to install them at more than 3m height, to keep better line of sight.
Install operator command buttons, panel screens on walls throughout the area and connect them to AgWay server.
Install AgWay Software on a Windows PC in control room and on a Panel-PC on AGV.
If your vehicle already has a controller, connect the Panel-PC to your vehicle controller. Otherwise, connect all motor controllers, sensors, actuators, encoders etc. to an IO card on the AGV and then connect the IO card to the Panel-PC. AgWay by-default supports Modbus-TCP for connection to AGV IO cards or controllers. However, you can define your own Plugins or use other producer’s plugins for communicating to any device using any protocol you prefer.
Draw desired routes on AgWay screen or on interface of any of AGVs. Then put AGV on few points between start points and targets and let AgWay to learn the points.
Define traffic criteria using task table (Defining rules for AGVs so that they choose appropriate routes to reach to their destinations or rerouting if parts of route was blocked). Conditions and Actions are mathematical expressions on task table. There is wide range of variables like, IO card pins read\write, external device data, Position of AGVs, deviations… available to be used.
AgWay continuously scans tasks which user has defined, and executes the tasks when the required condition for the specified routes fulfills.
Using any text transfer mobile app, operators who are connected to the field WiFi can assign instantaneous tasks to AGVs.
